Who's In Your House?

I am not trying to overuse the term “cruelty free,” because society has already done that, but I wanted to redefine it for you, so you know the true meaning.

Being cruelty free means living a lifestyle that does no harm to other beings – by buying products not tested on animals, not eating them, hurting them, etc.

On the topic of home decór, I want you to know what really goes into building your dream house/apartment/condo, etc. Those mood boards you save, your desired color palettes, all have a life prior to your wall or ceiling.

ETHICALLY EXPOSED

Did you know that most well-known paint products are tested on animals? Yes, paint for your house is tested on animals. Isn’t that bizarre?

Companies such as Sherwin Williams – Quoted from the website:Company-wide, Sherwin-Williams does not conduct or outsource testing on animals unless it is specifically required by a regulation or government authority. There are rare instances where animal testing may be required as part of a government mandated registration process – for example, new chemical, biocide and food packaging product registrations.”

Why do we keep changing the paint formulas? Each advancements seems to require animal testing.

Meanwhile, it is giving you the same result as before, changing the color of your wall and ceiling. If the chemicals used weren’t safe to inhale or touch, then why are we using them?

If it isn’t healthy for us, and it can cause harm, why should we be allowed to do it to another living being? There is nothing that can justify that.

Benjamin Moore does not even have information about being cruelty free or testing on animals on his site, so I have contacted them and will provide an update once I receive one. But usually, when a company doesn’t specify on their website or products, it doesn’t always have the best reason…

Alternatives include LandLake

Paints, Auro*, and more!

It’s great that we have so many options, but it’s sad that the most well-known, and popular products are tested on animals. If we challenge and think beyond the store shelves, we would have a kinder, more developed society because we would be focusing on the advancements in place of animal testing that are more cost effective as well as accuracy increasing.
