Tate's Cookies

Okay so, let’s talk about Tate’s for a second. How did I not know that they have vegan cookies? I actually found this out, the weekend I went to the Hamptons, WHERE THEY ARE MADE!!!

Crazy. Anyways, If you haven’t had Tate’s cookies, I highly recommend them for the crunchy cookie eaters. If you like soft cookies, these are not for you. They are still insanely delicious, but they are indeed super crispy.

ETHICALLY EXPOSED

I love soft cookies, but the fact that Tate’s has jumped on the Vegan train, I couldn’t help but support them and try the cookies. When it comes to companies trying to make a step in the right direction, I applaud them, although they aren’t perfect, and still support cruel practices, they are making a step toward a better, more cruelty-free future.

I love cows, and they suffer immensely from the dairy and meat industry, even from the chocolate chips in cookies, and the butter used for the pan.

But think about it, when I shop for groceries, where do I go? Whole Foods, ShopRite, Stop & Shop, etc. Do they sell just vegetables? Ha! I wish.

In reality, they sell meat and dairy products which is something that hurts my heart, because my proceeds also go to those industries, but where am I going to get my produce in a convenient manner?

There are no farmers in the city who supply every single ingredient that I need and the stores have it all.

So, I shop where most people shop because they do have delicious food. My point being, that when companies are attempting to hop on the cruelty-free train, although I may not like them as a whole company and they are not completely and truly cruelty-free, I appreciate their efforts in moving with the times. Traditions, such as not adjusting your brand to fit customer demands, are things that often keep people and businesses stagnant and are things that are set by people who have died, and moving on from those things is prevalent to increase the efficiency and demand for our future.

I have gotten a little off track, but all in all, Tate’s Cookies are amazing and any chance you have to try them (the vegan version of course) you definitely should. Remember that everything has a back story and a

company withholding their proceeds, so when you purchase products, attempt to question who owns that product and what their values are. You will be surprised and shocked at what you find.

Eat delicious food, but also question delicious food. Who made it, who owns it, and who it affects.

Eat, eat, eat. Responsibly. Thank you. 🙂
