Hormonal Success

When it comes to hormones, many associate that term with women and fail to acknowledge the hormones in men as well. But to address this subject to women, hormones are tricky sometimes and can lead to confusion, annoyance, and even anger, but managing them is possible. It’s just like managing people.

Whether you like them or not, they are there, and how you deal with them is entirely up to you. Once again, a choice that is in your hands, no one else’s.

For women, when it comes to the menstrual cycle, it is common for doctors to prescribe “the pill” as a solution, but in fact, it is just patchwork that relieves you temporarily until it is time for you to actually deal with the reality… Let’s break it down, shall we?

ETHICALLY EXPOSED

The pill is an artificial regulator of a natural system… your body. The effects vary according to every individual who takes it obviously, but it is not only affecting you, but animals and the planet as well.

It is tested on animals, as are most pharmaceuticals, (required by the FDA), and when you pee the pill out of your system which is every day, that artificial chemical is washed away into the waterways of the earth. Leading to marine life absorbing it, and if you eat marine animals, well, you are eating birth control too. Isn’t that crazy to think about? For those of you who might think this is a deep dive into the ocean that doesn’t concern you, I encourage you to be more curious because your personal ocean should wonder what its driving force is.

Long story short, dealing with things in a natural way has been known and proven to help with hormonal issues. I for one, had PCOS, yes, HAD… I refused to go on the pill because I didn’t like all of the side effects that it had, in addition to making me feel certain ways without any control. I decided to enrich my body with melatonin-rich foods, (deep red foods) which are great for menstrual health, in addition to going to acupuncture and taking the Chinese herbs from my acupuncturist. After going for a consistent 3 months, I no longer had PCOS and was told to “continue doing what I am doing.”

I understand that not everyone has access to acupuncture, so I went even further with this. Before I started acupuncture, I adopted a food plan that was still natural, just more moderate with sugars. I did NOT cut out sugar, I just educated myself on what foods (natural) are high in sugar (basically everything, LOL) and just ate things in moderation. I didn’t limit myself, I just simply ate more greens and slightly lowered my intake of carbs. For example, rather than having a whole potato, I had half. I also eat like a monster, so for the average person, I don’t think it would change much in their eating habits.

With that, and taking a natural herb again, known as Myo-Inositol & D-Chiro (found on Amazon), I had no sign of PCOS. Another, natural, and accessible way to achieve the hormonal success that we have been influenced into thinking we have no control over.

And listen, I love doctors, and appreciate all that they do. I speak to mine about this stuff and how I prefer a holistic approach before medication, and they respect it, but have also disclosed to me that they didn’t learn about the healing properties of food in school. So, it’s not always that they are just pushing a temporary solution, a lot of the time, they don’t know any different. They are extremely intelligent beings, they know so much about the human body, and even though they have your best interests at heart, it is important to be curious

and acknowledge the power your body holds in healing and using its resources. Exercise is also a factor that I believe contributed to my success. Exercising in general is great for anyone, so I don’t want to say it was my sole reason, but it definitely aided in my progress and health.

Natural remedies and plans are not only great for you, but great for animals and the world. The fewer people that take birth control pills, the less of a demand there will be, and less animal testing! In addition, less harm to marine life, and lastly, less harm to you. 🙂

If you have any questions or concerns, I am not a doctor by any means and this is not medical advice, but I wrote this to serve as an educational resource for you to refer to. I wanted you to know that natural approaches are possible and that medication isn’t the only way to hormonal success. 🙂

Thank you always,

Lauren
